VIBRATION MONITORING FOR MACHINERY

The Metrix SETPOINT™ machinery monitor continuously measures vibration, position, or speed/phase trigger, and temperature; all in a compact 19" or 8" rack.

METRIX SETPOINT™

SETPOINT™ Machinery Protection System

The SETPOINT Machinery Protection System is a rack-based continuous machinery monitoring platform designed to fully comply with American Petroleum Institute Standard 670 for machinery protection systems. Up to 56 vibration/ position/speed channels or 84 temperature channels can be monitored and displayed in a single 19" rack. The system measures and alarms on shaft radial vibration, axial thrust position, casing seismic vibration (both velocity and acceleration), temperature, and shaft rotative speed. All necessary monitoring functionality is provided using only four basic module types, simplifying spare parts requirements.

Touch Screen Display

Industry-first, 8.4" integral color touch-screen display for viewing all current values collected, all produced data statuses, all alarm setpoints, all relay set points, alarm & event lists, and provides the ability to acknowledge alarms. The display fully complies with API 670 requirements.

Condition Monitoring Software

The SETPOINT system is the first to offer a fully open protocol for access to both static and dynamic (waveform) data. This open connectivity allows the SETPOINT system to enjoy native integration with OSIsoft's PI® System software. Through Metrix's partnership with OSIsoft, users are able to connect their SETPOINT system directly to PI software for comprehensive trending and diagnostic displays of all data, including plot types such as orbit, spectrum, timebase, and more.

Modules

Only two types of I/O modules to choose from. The Universal Monitoring Module (UMM) for vibration, axial position & phase measurements, and the Temperature Monitoring Module (TMM) for temperature & process variable measurements. The UMM provides four channels of configurable vibration, position, or speed/phase trigger measurements along with 4 SPDT relays and individual 4-20 mA analog outputs for each channel. The module accepts most commercially available proximity probes, accelerometers, and velocity transducers (both moving-coil and piezo-velocity). The TMM provides six channels of configurable temperature measurements along with 4 SPDT relays and individual 4-20 mA analog outputs for each channel. It accepts 2-, 3-, and 4-wire RTDs and grounded/ungrounded thermocouples in any combination. Each module can be configured with the Rack Configuration Software which is provided free of charge.

Recorder/Controller

The Eurotherm NanoDac is unique in that it is a recorder and controller in one. It provides measurement and control of various process variables for regulatory reporting, quality control, and process feedback.

Eurotherm NanoDac

nanodac™ Recorder / Controller

The nanodac™ recorder/controller offers the ultimate in graphical recording combined with PID control for a box of its size. The compact ¼ DIN panel mount unit offers four high accuracy universal inputs for data recording and PID control. This secure data recording device with accurate control is enhanced by a full colour, ¼ VGA display to bring a crystal clear operator interface to even the smallest of machines.

Crystal clear, colour display

The 3.5" TFT display offers incredibly clear visualisation of process parameters with a wide selection of configurable views to best suit the application. Views include: Horizontal and vertical trends; Horizontal and vertical bar graphs; Numeric; Alarm status, and control loops. The unit also provides user wiring from the front of the product for detailed configuration without the need to connect to a PC.

Data Acquisition and Recording

The nanodac recording functionality utilises the secure strategies and UHH format developed by Eurotherm through years of recording expertise. As well as multiple real-time views and historical review on the product, multiple data archiving strategies are provided utilising the 50MB onboard Flash memory, removable USB and data transfer via FTP to a specified server.

The four universal input channels provide high accuracy (suitable for use in Nadcap applications) and 125ms parallel sampling. An additional 14 virtual channels can be utilised to provide maths, counter, slave communications and totaliser functionality within the instrument.

Review software can also be utilised to automatically initialise pulling of data to a Review database over the Ethernet network. Both Review and Dream Report™ software can be used for report generation that meets the needs of your process.

PID Control Loops

The nanodac instrument can also provide two independent control loops (optional). This control functionality utilises the advanced Eurotherm PID algorithm providing high performance and reliability to your process. Functionality includes one of the best autotune facilities available along with overshoot inhibition (cutbacks); compensation for power fluctuations using power feedforward; linear, fan, oil and water cooling
