3GRED LION 3G CELLULAR MODEM SOFTWARE CUSTOMIZED FOR NETWORK UPGRADE

A large gas company approached Neal Systems with a problem that their cellular modem of choice, the Sierra Wireless Raven series, was built for 2G speeds and AT&T had announced that the 2G network was soon to be phased out. Neal Systems was able to work with Red Lion’s cellular team to design a custom software for one of Red Lion’s 3G cellular modems that would essentially create a “plug and play” solution for complete compatibility with their existing proprietary PLC application. As a result, Neal Systems displaced the part number Raven XT G2263-CD series, which the customer had standardized on throughout their fleet.

SIXNET INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET SOLUTION FOR COMPLEX APPLICATION

The customer needed to connect fifteen surveillance cameras, a gate access control system, and a plant SCADA system over the ethernet. The project posed significant challenges: cable runs too long for CAT 5e/6 ethernet cable; new trenches not feasible due to cost; necessary redundancy; equipment supplied by multiple companies; and a budgetary cap. Neal Systems solved the application requirements with Sixnet / Red Lion SLX-8MG-1 (2-pair SFP fiber and 4/6-RJ45 copper) with 2-SFP GMFIBER-SFP-500 transceivers. This cost-effective solution provided ample bandwidth, the necessary data management tools, redundancy, and minimal network downtime, all without the high cost of digging trenches to install underground conduit.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS PROBLEM SOLVED WITH SIXNET AND ELPRO PRODUCTSgovernment

Neal Systems provided wireless modems to transmit signal from the pumping station at a municipal wastewater treatment plant. Their previous wireless communications had some performance issues, so Neal Systems applied Sixnet and Elpro wireless products.

METRIX SYSTEM SUPPORTS D.C. WATER EXPANSION

Neal Systems won a major bid for a new Metrix Setpoint vibration monitoring system to the Washington, D.C., water authority. The system will provide vibration and temperature monitoring for new pumps that are being supplied at one of the facilities.

SIXNET COMMUNICATIONS ENSURE CONTINUOUS REMOTE MONITORING

Neal Systems provides remote monitoring capabilities for a New Jersey Utilities Authority using Sixnet cellular communications. Nine remote locations report tank and well levels to a central SCADA system, which switches pumps on and off to maintain levels. This NSI solution provides enterprise-class functionality that enables secure, reliable wireless data access – anywhere, anytime. Wireless monitoring and control is a simple, reliable, and cost effective alternative to conventional landline. This maintains easy, secure, and redundant monitoring and switchover to existing land lines, thereby maintaining data reliability and security. If cell service fails, landlines will take over and then automatically switch back when service is reinstated.
