At the core of the IAP50S is a highly stable and accurate piezoresistive silicon sensor, sealed to measure absolute pressure — the total pressure relative to a perfect vacuum. This makes the IAP50S particularly suited for applications involving vacuum processes, barometric compensation, and systems operating at low absolute pressures. Its sensor is integrated into a rugged housing, built to withstand harsh environmental conditions and aggressive media, while maintaining measurement integrity over long service lives. One of the most notable innovations in the IAP50S is FoxCal™ — a multi-curve calibration technology that stores up to 11 independent calibration curves in the transmitter’s memory. This allows the device to automatically select the optimal calibration curve based on the user’s configured span, eliminating the need for single-range selection during ordering. This feature supports a turndown ratio up to 400:1, significantly increasing installation flexibility and reducing spare inventory costs.
