The Foxboro IGP05S is a robust, cost-effective, and smart gauge pressure transmitter designed for general-purpose industrial applications where reliability and digital diagnostics are essential—but ultra-high accuracy and advanced calibration features may not be required. It delivers solid performance, core intelligence, and key safety certifications at a lower price point than premium models like the IGP10S, while still carrying Foxboro’s signature durability and precision. Ideal for cost-sensitive process automation environments, the IGP05S balances performance with affordability. It features standard 4–20 mA analog output with HART 7 communication, making it fully compatible with most DCS and asset management systems used across the chemical, power, water/wastewater, and manufacturing sectors.

At its core, the IGP05S is built for reliable gauge pressure measurement — i.e., pressure referenced to atmospheric pressure — and is well suited to a broad range of applications, including pump discharge monitoring, filtration systems, line pressure, and mechanical process feedback. It can also be configured for absolute or differential pressure in alternate variants. While it doesn’t include Foxboro’s full FoxCal™ multi-curve calibration system, it does feature field-configurable ranges with a turndown ratio of up to 400:1 — an impressive level of flexibility for a transmitter in its class. This means one IGP05S can often be used in place of multiple range-specific devices, helping reduce inventory, maintenance, and procurement complexity.
