eurotherm plc

  • The best in PID control and secure recording packaged for quick, easy implementation

E+PLC offers precise measurement of process variables to give accurate, repeatable results which translate into optimized energy usage. Its precision is based on the fundamental requirement that to control accurately, you need to measure precisely.

  • High stability, high repeatability measurements to 0.1% of span precision
  • High level of input noise rejection
  • Exceptionally fast acting cold junction temperature compensation for thermocouples
  • Accurate linearization for industry standard thermocouples, resistance thermometers, and many other sensors
  • Tighter process tolerances to handle the most demanding production operations
  • Low input noise prevents control oscillations, allowing precise control to setpoint within tolerance
  • Flawless operation for regulated processes, for example AMS2750E, CQI-9

Precision control…
increasing efficiency, reducing costs, improving quality

  • Simple function block instantiation, capturing 50 years of control experience
  • Optimizes processing time
  • Optimizes energy usage
  • Reduces application engineering and commissioning costs

Eurotherm control algorithms protect product quality by eliminating overshoot and providing tighter tolerances to the required setpoint. The resulting finer, repeatable control makes processes more predictable and aids with compliance to both regulatory and quality standards.  The improvements in process performance gained also reduce wasted energy and processing times, thus maximizing overall equipment efficiency (OEE).  Offering superior control with reduced engineering, E+PLC uses a single, integrated programming environment to optimize engineering efficiency.  High performance PID control capability is made readily available within this environment in the form of pre-engineered function blocks.  Users need to simply parameterize the blocks and can instantiate them as many times as required for an application.

New High Performance Pyrometer Series by Process Sensors

July 23, 2014 | Product News

Features2 color pyrometer series

Process Sensors introduces their newest self-contained pyrometer models, the stand-alone PSC-SR56N Series. With an outstanding price/performance ratio, this series of two-color sensors is packed with features that make these pyrometers the perfect choice for custom application requirements such as:

  • Temperature Display and Parameter Controls on IR Sensor Rear Panel
  • Thru-lens, Laser or Integrated Color Video Camera Sighting
  • Temperature Ranges Spanning from 500° to 3000°C
  • 4-20mA and RS-485 Interface
  • Choice of Fixed Focus Optics
  • Fast Response Time from 5ms, Adjustable up to 100 seconds
  • Emissivity Independent Measurement
  • Compact, Robust Stainless Steel Housing
  • RS-485 Modbus Interface Integration into existing Data Acquisition Systems

Wide Range of Applications

The nature of these highly compact and versatile IR sensors make them ideal for use in:

  • Steel and Metals
  • Induction Heating
  • Ceramics/Composites
  • R & D
  • Vacuum Furnace
  • Kilns
  • Sintering/Graphite
  • Semiconductor
  • Welding
  • Nuclear

Designed for Harsh Industrial Continuous Operations

Optical and electronics parts are enclosed in rugged cylindrical stainless steel housings for high performance in the most demanding environments to include under demanding research and development conditions. The durable and compact companion stainless steel cooling jacket with integrated air purge stands up to even the harshest environments, and a number of innovative, ruggedly designed accessories are available.

Four Sighting Methods Available

With five temperature ranges spanning from 500°to 3000°C, the new models offer a choice of through-lens sighting, an integrated red laser, video camera sighting, or an electronic viewfinder. The unique electronic viewfinder feature allows the user to view into the sensor’s eye-piece and observe a colorized video image of the process under measurement.

Easy to Set Up

The free of charge PSCSpot software with optional USB cable for connection to RS485 output allows simple set-up of IR thermometer parameters, facilitates multi-tasking, and makes it simple to record data in graphical, text, or tabular format.

Advantages of Two-Color or Ratio Pyrometers

These pyrometers measure temperatures from the ratio of radiation signals of two adjacent wavelengths as opposed to measuring the absolute intensity within one wavelength, as with one-color pyrometers. The advantages and benefits of using two-color sensors are:

  • Automatic compensation for viewing through dirty windows, dust and partial smoke between sensor and target.
  • Compensation for changes in target emissivity (i.e., gray bodies); targets with the same emissivity on both wavelengths.
  • Measures smaller target than sensor’s field of view (FOV/Spot Size) (i.e., measures weighted peak temperature within FOV.
  • Unaffected by moving targets within FOV.

Wireless LAN Tower Light Series

The MSystem IT40SW, IT50SW and IT60SW Series are preassembled tower lights of 40-mm, 50-mm, and 60-mm diameter LED modules with wireless LAN connectivity. The WLAN access point built in the IP 65 protected tower light is a simple and practical solution for status remote monitoring, data logging, and supervisory control of manufacturing equipment and processes in harsh industrial environment.

The WLAN capability complying with IEEE 802.11b/g/n allows a wide compatibility with MSystem’s and other manufacturers’ remote I/O modules and web-enabled data loggers. This supports versatile applications such as data acquisition and control of multiple machines by a single master PLC located in one without needing hard wiring between each of them or event notification to tablet devices with texts and images from manufacturing equipment.

Wireless LAN Light Features

  • Energy saving, maintenance free LED lights
  • Remote monitoring and data logging via WLAN network by bridging signals to/from Ethernet Modbus/TCP I/Os
  • Wireless LAN access point and infrastructure mode
  • Wireless LAN connection complied with IEEE802.11b/g/n
  • Bright and even illumination thanks to MSystem’s original reflection system
  • Rugged IP 65 construction is ideal for harsh industrial applications

The LED lights are controlled either by local contact inputs or by a host PLC/PC via Modbus/TCP network.

Open Network Capable Tower Light Series

The MSYSTEM IT40S, IT50S and IT60S Series are preassembled tower lights of 40-mm, 50-mm, and 60-mm diameter LED modules. They feature direct control by PLC via Ethernet Modbus/TCP (model: ITxxSRE) or CC-Link (model: ITxxSRC).
