Printing Charts from a Graphic Recorder

What is holding your plant back from switching from traditional paper circular recorders made by Chessell, Honeywell, BIF, Fischer Porter, Yokogawa, or ABB to an upgraded graphic recorder?

The most common reason for not upgrading is the need for printed circular charts. 

The Nano392, Neal Systems’ retrofitted custom configured graphic recorder that mounts directly into a Chessell 392 recorder case (as well as other manufacturers), can now print circular paper charts to a local or network printer when using the new Reviewer software available for the Nano392.

The upcoming obsolescence of most paper circular recorders has increased the costs of charts, pens, and instrument repairs. By upgrading now, our service team can configure and install your custom solution at a priority, as well as train your engineering and maintenance teams remotely.

EPA Temporary Ease of Enforcement

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a statement last week outlining a new temporary policy that eases enforcement related to federal environmental permits, regulations, and statutes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The full statement can be viewed here. 

As related to routine compliance monitoring and reporting by regulated entities the EPA states: 

“The consequences of the pandemic may constrain the ability of regulated entities to perform routine compliance monitoring, integrity testing, sampling, laboratory analysis, training, and reporting or certification.”

This temporary policy makes clear that while there is an ease of enforcement, the standards are still in place, and the industries impacted should be making every effort to comply. Potentially impacted compliance monitoring and reporting include CEMS, tank integrity testing, wastewater effluent, air emissions, cooling tower testing, amongst others. Compliance in drinking water is still being held to the highest standard. 

Remote monitoring is one way that the team at Neal Systems is continuing to assist our nations essential services continue to monitor and record at regulatory levels. Our latest remote monitoring technology allows for our engineers to securely VPN into cloud connected equipment. This enables for more services to be performed remotely than ever before. Our preferred cloud-based technology allows for the highest level of monitoring and reporting possible, without having to physically access the sites. 

The ease of current enforcement has opened a window for companies not currently using remote monitoring technologies to implement the use now in order to stay as compliant in their reporting and monitoring as possible.

NSI’s primary purpose is to support the critical infrastructure (electric utilities, water, wastewater, steam, etc.) and industrial companies (pharmaceutical, food, beverage, chemical, oil/gas, etc.) throughout Virginia to New York — all of which are vital to our nation’s wellbeing during this time.  We do this by providing products, service, and engineering capabilities that these companies need to effectively and safely run their plant processes.  Neal Systems offers remote technical assistance, on-site support and 24/7 emergency support to many of these customers.  Our service and engineering team does have extra capacity to help should you need additional on-site assistance for emergency, shutdown, or upgrade situations. 

Currently we are not seeing an increase in lead times from any of our vendors.  However, there is a potential for many of the products which include internal electronic components that are sourced overseas to see a delay in manufacturing and thus increased lead times.  Because of this, we are advising our customers to place orders for mission critical items as soon as possible.  If you are unsure if a product or service you need may be affected, please contact us!
