M-System Introduces the new DL8 series — An Inexpensive Web-Enabled Remote Terminal Unit (RTU)

M-System’s model DL8 is a remote terminal unit with basic web server function. Various sensor signals are gathered from built-in I/O modules or remote I/Os connected through Ethernet Modbus/TCP and monitored through Intranet or Internet using a web browser. Users do not need any additional application program to view the data. User-friendly browser views are already installed: Data, Trend and Event Log views. Each one is basic but useful, designed for ease of browsing on a small screen of smart phones and tablets.

• Simple remote monitoring via internet without needing to build up a complex PC-based system
• Pre-installed user-friendly browser view for remote data access through smart phones or tablets
• Reporting by e-mails
• Local data stored in an SD card memory
• Various network protocols are usable: TCP/IP, SMTP client, HTTP server, FTP client and server, Modbus/TCP master and slave

Red Lion Graphite Goes Mobile

The Red Lion Graphite® operator panel is an industry leader in performance and communication protocols. When the application requires additional control or connectivity, plug-in the Graphite modules. Red Lion offers mobile access to HMI technology to facilitate the management of assets and production performance. This means that HMI units are no longer tethered to a hardware connection with custom-designed screens for displaying process data aligned to the objects on the screen with these features:

Protocol Conversion

This has become a big deal now as legacy systems are upgraded. With the Red Lion Graphite Series, you have built-in protocol conversion. Not just any old converter – 300 different protocols, which keeps growing. How about thirteen simultaneous conversions over the Ethernet port or ports at once? What are some of the protocols that are of interest?: BACnet, Ethernet I/P Modbus TCP, and so on.

The Red Lion Graphite series has PID control built-in. Now I can control my process without the need for another piece of hardware to provide the control features. One less point of failure.

Built for Tough Environments

Industrial and municipal facilities are a tough place for instrumentation to survive. The Graphite is built tough! There is a cast aluminum metal housing able to withstand shock and vibrations along with extreme temperatures – minus 30 Degrees Centigrade to plus 60 Degrees Centigrade.

Wireless Capability

It used to be that remote access was only possible if your HMI was networked with an Ethernet cable – not true anymore. With the newly released HSPA cellular wireless module, you can now view, edit, control and update data from your Red Lion HMI Graphite from virtually anywhere.

Eurotherm EPack Ethernet IP and Firmware V3.00 Now Available

EPack is a compact, fully-featured power control from Eurotherm, combining a high level of functionality with simplicity of set-up and operation. Ethernet IP comms is now available on all the EPack range. This feature is supported by a new version of firmware (V3.00), which is only integrated in the current version of iTools. The availability of this comms, native on EPack, will allow an easy integration with the PLC. EPack has been submitted and successfully passed Open Device Vendor Association (ODVA) conformance testing, which ensures compliance to the CIP network.

Robust Ethernet Switch for Extended Temperature Use in Industrial Applications

The new 1080E-T 8-Port Ethernet Switch is designed to meet the demands of industrial environments, yet is easy to use and simple to install with DIN rail or wall mount options. The 1080E-T features an extended temperature rating of –40 to +167°F (–40 to +75°C), fanless cooling and an IP30 rated metal enclosure to ensure performance in the toughest of environments. An ideal choice for harsh and hazardous locations, the 1080E-T is certified for use in Class I Division 2 zones and meets industrial levels of surge and noise immunity standards typically required by mining, oil and gas, chemical processing and other processes. Product EOL: Sixnet BT 6400, SN 6400 & RAM 6400

The marketplace continues to migrate to 3G and 4G LTE networks, resulting in declining demand for 2G cellular devices. Red Lion therefore has announced the obsolescence of all Sixnet series 2G-only versions of the BT 6400, SN 6400, and RAM 6400 cellular products.

Red Lion is offering a last-time-buy for these products on or before June 30, 2015 with immediate shipment, subject to product availability. Red Lion will continue to provide technical support, offer repair services, and honor product warranties for as long as components remain available.
